The short version

It Took has no accounts and does not ask for your name or email. Your answers for the day are saved in your own browser. The game shows ads from Google, which may use cookies, and in the EU, the UK and Switzerland you choose whether they can.

What stays on your device

Today's answers are kept in your browser's local storage so you can come back to them. They never leave your device, and clearing your browser data removes them.

What we count

When you open, start, finish or share a puzzle, the game sends a tiny anonymous note: which puzzle it was, your points and whether you played before. It contains no name, no account, no device id and no advertising id. We only keep running totals per puzzle and per country (the country comes from our host, not from your IP address, which we never store). We use them to see how the game is doing and to show how you did against today's players.

Feedback

If you send feedback from the game, we store your message, the mood you picked, the puzzle number and your country, nothing else. Please don't put personal details in the message.

Ads

It Took is free because it shows ads, served by Google AdSense, only on the results screen and beside the game on wide screens, never during a round. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technology to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can turn off personalized ads in Google's ad settings and read how Google uses information from sites that use its services. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent first and can change their choice at any time.

Support payments

If you choose to support It Took, the payment is handled by Polar (polar.sh), which acts as the merchant: they take the payment, handle taxes and send your receipt. We never see your card details.

Android app

The It Took app on Google Play opens this same website inside Chrome, so everything on this page applies to it as well. The app itself collects nothing extra, and support payments are not offered inside the app.

Deleting your data

This applies to It Took on the web and to the It Took app on Google Play, both by Faven Games.

Your answers: clear your browser data for ittook.day (in the app: uninstall it, or clear the app's storage in Android settings). This removes everything saved on your device right away.

Feedback: email info@favengames.com and quote the message you sent. We delete it within 30 days and reply when it is done.

Anonymous counts (puzzle totals per country) cannot be linked to any person, so there is nothing of yours in them to delete. Google's own ad data is handled in My Ad Center.

Hosting and fonts

The site is served by Cloudflare. The Rubik typeface is loaded from Google Fonts. Icons are from Microsoft's Fluent UI Emoji set (MIT license).

Children

It Took does not ask for or collect personal information from anyone, including children.
