The short version

It Took has no accounts and does not ask for your name or email. Your answers for the day are saved in your own browser. The game shows ads from Google, which may use cookies, and in the EU, the UK and Switzerland you choose whether they can.

What stays on your device

Today's answers are kept in your browser's local storage so you can come back to them. They never leave your device, and clearing your browser data removes them.

Ads

It Took is free because it shows ads, served by Google AdSense, only on the results screen and beside the game on wide screens, never during a round. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technology to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can turn off personalized ads in Google's ad settings and read how Google uses information from sites that use its services. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent first and can change their choice at any time.

Support payments

If you choose to support It Took, the payment is handled by Polar (polar.sh), which acts as the merchant: they take the payment, handle taxes and send your receipt. We never see your card details.

Hosting and fonts

The site is served by Cloudflare. The Rubik typeface is loaded from Google Fonts. Icons are from Microsoft's Fluent UI Emoji set (MIT license).

Children

It Took does not ask for or collect personal information from anyone, including children.
